We are specifically opposed to the location of the WNET United States Postal Service (USPS)Sorting Hub at RTIA. This hub will be flying 7-8 ( to begin with ) old hushkitted B-727-9s from midnight to 3 a.m. over residential and noise sensitive areas. RTIA is a downtown, high-altitude airport with very limited expansion capacity surrounded on all sides by mountainous terrain ( the Sierra Nevada Mountain range ). We see almost no economic sense to this proposal in comparison to the disruption of night time peace and quiet in addition to environmental damage that would result.
